SHEILA WOOD work about
Pilot Space - Hybrid Office
Objective: Design a space that is inviting to both resident and remote employees. The pilot space is intended to be a test space that can be replicated throughout the floorplate. Incorporate research findings that support returning to work in a hybrid model.
Design Goals:
Dynamic, magnetic & energizing.
The space needs to create a “buzz” within the organization for a new model that could be repeated throughout the organization.
To foster community & create new connections within the organization.
Creating a “Hub” like space that supports the creative process. The space will offer choice for places to collaborate together in planned and spontaneous ways.
A flexible floor-plate offering choice.
The space will reflect key principles and insights based on Herman Miller’s Global Research team guiding organizations on how to return to the office.
A space where everyone is welcome and has a seat at the table.
Good design is inclusive design. The pilot space will offer a variety of settings for different body types and abilities to allow everyone to show up as their whole selves.
The space is equipped with technology to give everyone has an equitable experience no matter where they are in the room or in the world.
